Women Democratic Front raising funds for Cholistan folk musician Aadu Ram Bhagat

Monsoon rains may have ceased their onslaught but that doesn’t mean rest for the people affected by the floods. With their homes and sources of livelihood destroyed, they can use all the help they can get. The Women Democratic Front (WDF) is extending a hand to a folk musician to provide relief and rehabilitate him.

On Monday, they shared a video of the artist in action, captioned, “We are raising funds for supporting Cholistan’s pluralistic folk musician of Kabir Panti tradition, Aadu Ram Bhagat. They have suffered immense damage to their home, livestock and all belongings. The crops have been washed away, and thousands of animals in the village have died.”

It added that this district, Rahim Yar Khan, is one of the most neglected of Seraiki Waseb in the recent relief campaigns. “While the floods did not hit the area as badly, the continuous rains from last few months has affected the working class the most.”

The WDF spoke about the damage the flood affectees have suffered and the organisation’s plan to help. “They’ve lost what little material life they had built through a lifetime of hard work. We are working to support the artist through this crisis. We will use your donations to provide relief and help them rehabilitate. Please come forward & donate.”

Attaching the musician’s bank account details, the WDF added, “Send us a receipt when you donate.”
