In our parting,
between boat and shore
Comes the willow-tree
ہم بچھڑے تھے یوں
کشتی اور ساحل کے بیچ
تھا بیدِ مجنوں

The leaves of the willow fall,
Scraps of vegetables
Floating donw the brook
گِرتے ہیں پتّے
یا ندّی کی آنکھوں میں
خوابوں کے ٹکڑے

The morning-glory
Trails over the ground
Of the empty house
صبحِ طرح دار
خالی گھر کے آنگن میں
پھِرتی ہے بے کار
